Make a Berry/Foraging Basket Group Workshop : Full Day

Come along and learn some.traditional willow basketry techniques and skills in the beautiful surroundings of Knowlands woods..

Saturday 30th May

Time 9.30-5

The course will involve the stake and strand method of basketmaking with willow.Students will be guided through the process of creating a small round basket completing with a trac border adding a pegged bow handle (soft strap handle optional) to finish.

Useful for foraging berries,herbs,plants and mushrooms. We will discuss willow varieties and properties as we weave, looking at samples and books for further inspiration.

Please note

Suitable for beginners but good manual dexterity is needed.

There is some uneven ground in the woods.

Trained in Fine Art and making willow baskets for 15yrs, incorporating natural and woodland materials, experimenting with traditional techniques and contemporary influences, enjoying sharing the therapeutic value of basketry in the South East.
